Epistemic Pedagogy Journal is a multidisciplinary scientific journal that publishes original and previously unpublished research articles in the field of education, with a particular focus on epistemic pedagogy and knowledge construction in learning. This publication ethics statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the journal publication process, including journal managers, editors, reviewers, and authors. This statement is adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and refers to the Regulation of the Head of LIPI No. 5 of 2014 on the Code of Ethics of Scientific Publications, which emphasizes ethical conduct in scholarly publishing. The ethical standards of scientific publication upheld by Epistemic Pedagogy Journal are based on the following principles: 1. Neutrality, defined as the absence of conflicts of interest in the publication process. 2. Justice, which ensures that authorship is granted only to individuals who have made significant contributions to the work. 3. Honesty, which requires publications to be free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) Editor-in-Chief Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Editor-in-Chief of Epistemic Pedagogy Journal is responsible for: · Determining the journal’s title, scientific scope, and publication direction. · Appointing and coordinating members of the editorial board. · Defining relationships between the publisher, editors, reviewers, and other parties. · Ensuring confidentiality for authors, editors, and reviewers involved in the publication process. · Implementing intellectual property rights policies, particularly related to copyright. · Establishing, reviewing, and communicating journal policies to all stakeholders. · Developing and enforcing codes of conduct for editors and reviewers. · Ensuring the journal is published according to the established schedule. · Supporting the sustainability and long-term quality of the journal. · Expanding academic networks and collaboration to enhance journal visibility and impact. · Handling legal, licensing, and permission-related matters. All publication decisions made by the Editor-in-Chief are final and based on scholarly merit. Editor’s Duties and ResponsibilitiesEditors are responsible for: · Providing constructive feedback to authors to improve clarity, quality, and academic rigor. · Ensuring manuscripts comply with the journal’s language, format, and academic standards. · Continuously improving the quality of published articles. · Upholding academic freedom while maintaining objectivity. · Issuing corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, or apologies when necessary. · Ensuring manuscripts do not contain content related to SARA or other sensitive issues that may harm the journal or publisher. · Receiving, investigating, and following up on complaints related to the publication process. · Supporting initiatives that promote awareness of publication ethics. · Encouraging authors to revise manuscripts until they meet publication standards. · Coordinating manuscript preparation, layout, and formatting according to journal templates. · Working closely with the Editor-in-Chief to finalize manuscripts prior to publication. Duties and Responsibilities of ReviewersReviewers are expected to: · Provide objective, impartial, and constructive evaluations of manuscripts. · Assess the clarity, originality, relevance, and scientific contribution of submissions. · Ensure manuscripts align with the scope of Epistemic Pedagogy Journal. · Avoid personal criticism and maintain professional judgment. · Maintain strict confidentiality regarding manuscript content. · Refrain from using unpublished information for personal benefit. Duties and Responsibilities of AuthorsAuthors are required to: · Ensure that all listed authors meet the criteria for authorship. · Take collective responsibility for the content of the manuscript, including methods, analysis, and interpretation. · Clearly acknowledge all sources of funding or support. · State the limitations of the research honestly. · Respond to reviewer and editor comments in a timely and scholarly manner. · Avoid unnecessary or irrelevant communication with editors outside the review process. · Declare that the submitted manuscript is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal. · Prepare manuscripts in accordance with the journal’s author guidelines. Duties and Responsibilities of Website AdministratorsWebsite administrators are responsible for: · Managing and maintaining the journal’s online system. · Configuring system settings and managing user accounts. · Registering editors, reviewers, and authors. · Managing journal features and workflow. · Monitoring and reporting journal statistics. · Publishing accepted articles according to editorial decisions. |
